Saw Franchise Retrospective

Deep Dive into Saw I and Saw II, the film that launched a franchise, and the film that set up the template for the films to follow. The first film is a masterpiece from James Wan and Leigh Whannel and deserves to be celebrated as an example of perfect horror cinema. The second film while moving in a different direction to the first, is in many ways the reason the franchise became so incredibly popular, by laying the foundation for the rest of the films which followed.

Deep Dive into Saw III and Saw IV, the films which expanded the world of Saw and further explored John Kramer's moral mission.

Deep Dive into Saw V and Saw VI, these films are the ones which require the most dedication to the franchise, as the story becomes more complex with the introduction of more character's who were swept up in Kramer's tightly knit web

Deep Dive into Saw VII which was initially labelled as the final chapter and is probably one of the weakest of the franchise (though does have a wonderful twist ending) and then Jigsaw which was an attempt to possibly reboot the franchise, which unfortunately did not happen at the time.

This is the closing episode of the Deep Dive, where we tie it all together and also briefly touch on the latest addition to the world of Saw, Spiral.
